Company History

40 years ago, Ron Reich started what is now Build-Tek, Inc. out of the back of his pick-up truck.

Ron was an expert salesman. With his determination, wit, and hard work ethic, he built Build-Tek, Inc., into a strong, vital company with customer service as its cornerstone.

Ron grew up in Columbus, Ohio, where he attended Ohio State University. He moved to Southern California, where he got his start working for a company that sold construction supply materials. Knowing he would eventually want to have his own company, Ron headed to Northern California. There, he started Roach’s Supply with the help of Fred Kelleway of Kelleway Hardware. In the early 1980’s, the partnership was dissolved and Roach’s Supply became Build-Tek, Inc.

One of the things that has made Build-Tek, Inc. so successful is the loyalty of the staff. Ron had a way of making people feel like family. The people running the company today are long time employees because of the relationship they had with Ron.

Ron had a strong belief in giving back to his community and participated in many volunteer projects. He donated supplies to Habitat for Humanity and frequently helped in feeding the homeless, donating his time and money to these and other causes.

Ron had a flair and an interest in sales and customer service. Until his death in 2006, his passion was for the welfare of his company; the employees and customers of Build-Tek, Inc.
